Volunteer With Us!

Our community has a growing need for adult literacy services and LFA needs your help to address this gap! We are looking for volunteers to teach classes or tutor one-on-one.

Why Volunteer?

At Learning for ALL, we offer free English as a Second Language (ESL) and General Education Diploma (GED) classes. Volunteers make this possible by dedicating their time and skills to support adult learners. By volunteering with us, you will:

  • Help students improve their English.
  • Support learners as they prepare for the GED.
  • Be part of a caring and supportive community.
  • Gain valuable teaching or mentoring experience.

Notice: We are no longer seeking 1-on-1 tutors at this time. Our only current volunteer opportunity is for conversation class leaders. Volunteers are invited to come to our building for an hour to a lead group class focused on enhancing students’ speaking skills.

Frequently Asked Questions

We ask that tutors commit to meeting with their student for at least 3 months. Typically, tutors meet once a week for 1-2 hours.

You may work with a student online or in-person.

Typically, our volunteer tutors work with 1 student at a time.

For in-person tutoring, the Volunteer Coordinator will assist you in finding a public location for your meetings i.e: the CEC, a public library location, a café, etc..
